Unfortunately, pathologies such as caries and periodontitis (the inflammation that causes a loss of attachment of the teeth, their mobility and subsequent fall), if left untreated can lead to endetulism, that is the loss of one or more teeth. Fortunately, modern dental therapy gives us the opportunity to replace missing teeth with fixed prostheses that give the patient full functionality of the mouth. These fixed prostheses are commonly called “dental implants” and the branch of dentistry that deals with them is implantology.
Dental implants are very common today because they are the closest thing to natural and healthy teeth. They allow you to live normally because, unlike removable prostheses, dental implants give the opportunity to eat, talk, laugh and enjoy all the pleasures of life without worrying about teeth.
What is a dental implant?
The dental implant is composed of an “artificial root”, similar to a screw, made of Titanium. This synthetic root is inserted by a specialized doctor inside the bone and after a variable period, from a few weeks to several months, the implant is welded with bone. This process of union between bone and implant is called osteointegration and is a natural process stimulated by the shape of the screw and the material of which it is composed. Once the implant is welded with the bone, a connector, called “abutment”, is installed; to the abutment one or more crowns are mounted. The crowns are nothing else than the synthetic teeth that replace the natural ones, and are custom made to match the natural teeth or to replace them completely, adapting perfectly to the natural shape of the mouth. These crowns can be made of different materials and must be built by specialized laboratories in order to restore the full functionality of the teeth correctly.

Choose professionalism by Dental Turk for your dental implants
In the same way the dentist who installs these implants must be a specialized doctor and, above all, with a great experience in implantology. In fact, there is a big difference between “the dentist who installs an implant” and “the medical expert in implantology”. Dental implants are not suitable for all patients and are complex systems that require training, specialization, experience, reliability and professionalism to be installed. An implant of poor quality or installed incorrectly leads, after a few months, to the loss of the implant and of the bone that supports it with the impossibility of then replacing the implant itself.
In our clinic both our laboratory, and the doctors who operate surgically for implantology, have an experience of thousands of implants made in about twenty years of activity. This, together with the quality of the materials used, give us a success rate in implant treatments of 98%.
